ALTANGELES was founded in 2018 by Donna Borges and two of her high school friends as a blog / collective to share up-and-coming artists with the online community. Through this, she was introduced to the local indie and punk scenes in Los Angeles and Orange County, where ALTANGELES really began to take hold as a source for the community to learn about local artists.

On the first anniversary of ALTANGELES, Donna threw her first live event at FTG in August 2019 – the beginning of ALTANGELES starting it’s role as a show promoter.

When the pandemic began in 2020, ALTANGELES continued to produce content about local bands and host livestream shows via Twitch and Instagram Live.

2020 also saw the start of ALTANGELES Live – a collection of live sessions filmed at the now-defunct Gothard Studios in Huntington Beach, CA. These sessions featured rising artists like julie, Shock Therapy, Alternative Citizens, and more.

In 2021, ALTANGELES released our first ever print magazine, featuring San Diego alternative punk group Rain on Fridays on the cover. Issue 2 was released in early 2022 featuring NY-to-LA indie artist M.A.G.S. on the cover.

Now almost 5 years in the making, ALTANGELES continues to put on fun local events and spotlight local artists through all these avenues and more.
